The Town of Jefferson Select Board unanimously approved routine administrative items and several permits on Aug. 18. Selectman Norman Brown moved, and Selectman Terri Larcomb seconded, to approve the Aug. 4 meeting minutes; payroll for Aug. 11-12 and Aug. 18; and accounts payable for Aug. 11 and Aug. 18. Each motion passed without recorded opposition.
The board approved a building permit for a 12'x31' barn at 57 North Rd (applicant Tiffany Challinor) and approved a permit to build a 16'x11' wheelchair ramp at 179 Couture Rd (contractor-submitted with owner authorization). The board also approved a short-term rental permit for 771 Presidential Highway (applicants Jonothan & Celeste Dunn). The Select Board reviewed a building-permit application for a detached accessory-dwelling unit at 55 Chambers Rd (Richard Garibedian) but tabled that item until Select Board Chair Kevin Meehan could review recent changes to the state accessory-dwelling-unit law.
The board signed a Portland Glass contract to replace two exterior doors (meeting room and gym) and initialed financial statements, deposit records and unpaid bills. The meeting adjourned at 8:04 p.m.; the next Select Board meeting was scheduled for Sept. 2, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
