Oneida County committee approves staffing requests to support Health and ADRC cleaning

Lindsey Kennedy, Buildings & Grounds and recording secretary, told the Oneida County Facilities Committee on June 8 that the department seeks two staffing changes for the 2027 budget to maintain cleanliness at the Health and ADRC facility. Kennedy said the current LTE employee "works four hours nightly at a facility that serves the public" and that LTE positions are not on the regular wage schedule, making a $0.75-per-hour increase the immediate option to adjust compensation.
Kennedy also requested a second LTE Cleaning Technician position not to exceed 500 annual hours at a rate of $25.00 per hour to cover vacations, vacancies and special projects such as carpet shampooing. She said existing cleaning technicians cannot absorb the extra duties without risking burnout and reduced service quality.
Kennedy said HR Director Jennifer Lueneburg provided background to the committee on the benefits of LTE classification and agreed to forward that communication to committee members. Committee member Billy Fried acknowledged the importance of preventing burnout but said managing coverage is a responsibility of department management and noted the Executive Committee might consider LTE positions as a budget-reduction target during balancing.
On a motion by Billy Fried, seconded by Kyle Kilbourn, the committee voted unanimously to approve the staffing requests as presented and forward them to the Executive Committee for review in the 2027 budget process. All committee members present voted 'Aye' (Russ Fisher, Robert Almekinder, Billy Fried and Kyle Kilbourn).
