The Hobart board voted to set an unsafe-building order for 312 North Canton Street over to its April 1 meeting after staff reported the new owner has pulled permits but work remains under a stop-work order while the owner secures a licensed plumber. The board agreed to revisit the matter at the April 1 meeting to determine whether substantial compliance has been achieved.
Separately, the board approved contract renewals for six downtown businesses — Burkhos Bari Grill (230 Main St.), Cafe 339 (339 Main St.), Montego Bay Grill (322 Main St.), Rangers at the Clock Tower (437 E. 3rd St.), Sip Coffee House (310 Main St.) and Farmhouse Coffee (223 Center St.) — authorizing those arrangements through Oct. 31.
The board also approved a $43,000 agreement with 1st Group to prepare bid documents for a CCMG package so the city is ready to move forward if grant funds are awarded for paving and restoration work; staff said the agreement will let the city issue bids promptly once funding is confirmed.
Votes were taken by voice for the contract renewals and the design agreement; board members recorded assent by 'aye.'
