Wilson County commission approves a slate of budget amendments, appointments and fee updates

The Wilson County Commission on Monday approved a series of budget amendments and appointments, recording unanimous support for multiple measures and confirming several county board appointments.

Several resolutions to amend the county budget passed during the meeting. The commission approved Resolution 26-5-2 to move additional capital projects funds to county buildings, Resolution 26-5-3 to correct line items in the general budget, and subsequent measures (Resolutions 26-5-4 through 26-5-9) that made targeted appropriations to WEMA (the emergency management agency), landfill operations, the property assessor’s office and the sheriff’s department. Commission members announced recorded tallies consistently reported as "22 and 0" at the time of vote recording and declared the resolutions passed.

The body also approved administrative appointments recommended by the mayor. The commission confirmed Dr. Scott Frankenfield to continue serving as medical examiner for a five-year term, and approved two six-year appointments to the Health and Education Facility Board — Kurt Baker and Todd Tresler Sr. The mayor additionally asked the commission to confirm three appointments to the E911 board — David Hale, Jeff Tonks and Bobby Howard — and those confirmations were approved by voice vote.

The commission approved an updated set of permit fee increases for the Wilson Emergency Management Agency. Commissioners placed an administrative notary list on file and approved routine committee reports (minutes committee, law enforcement committee, education committee and others) without further discussion.

The meeting closed with the formal roll-call and customary motions toward adjournment.
