On Jan. 27 the Washington Metro Washington Area Committee unanimously advanced MCPG 106-25, a Prince George’s County bill that would require the county council to appoint at least three members to the county Board of Zoning Appeals, the chair said.
The chair summarized the legislation as a county-specific change: current law (as described in the meeting) limits the Board of Zoning Appeals to no more than three members, while MCPG 106-25 would require the council to appoint at least three members and state that a simple majority must concur in any resolution by the board.
The chair noted Miss Simpson from Prince George’s County was on the call for any questions. The motion to advance the bill was recorded as moved by Delegate Kormoran and seconded by Delegate Vogel. The chair called the vote and announced the measure appeared unanimous; the chair then stated the bill "is passed, subcommittee."
The transcript records no additional debate or public comment on the measure at this meeting. The committee set a follow-up meeting for Monday at 6:30 p.m. for additional bills and possible votes.
