Labette County commissioners approve dispatch equipment purchase, accounts payable and payroll in unanimous votes

At its March 31 meeting the Labette County Board of Commissioners approved several routine financial items and a procurement related to county dispatch services.
Commissioner Terry Weidert moved to authorize purchase of radio equipment and firmware from Uplink of Pittsburg, Kansas for $22,449.84 from the Dispatch fund; Tom Barrett seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
The board also approved accounts payable checks numbered 37058 through 37103 totaling $511,867.00 on a motion by Chairman Vincent B. Schibi, seconded by Commissioner Terry Weidert. Separately, the board approved payroll disbursements (checks 1810–1811 for $4,474.32 and direct deposits 826369–826492 for $379,910.37) totaling $384,384.69 after a motion by Chairman Schibi and a second from Commissioner Barrett; both motions passed unanimously.
The meeting record shows two short executive sessions: one for non-elected personnel that included County Counselor Brian K. Johnson and County Clerk Gena Landis with a scheduled reconvene at 10:28 a.m., and a second for attorney-client consultation attended by County Counselor Brian K. Johnson with reconvene at 10:43 a.m. Each executive session was announced and approved by unanimous vote.
There were no recorded dissenting votes. The meeting adjourned at 11:02 a.m.; the board is scheduled to meet next on April 7, 2025.
