Mackinac County approves deficit-elimination plan and routine bills, including three budget amendments

Mackinac County commissioners approved a state-required deficit-elimination plan at their Aug. 14 meeting and also approved a series of regular and manual payments and three budget amendments.
E911 Coordinator Bryce Tracy and County Clerk Hillary Vowell presented the deficit-elimination plan required by the State of Michigan when a fund ended the prior year in deficit; Commissioner Austin Kimberling moved to approve the plan, Commissioner Daryl Schroeder seconded, and the board voted unanimously in favor (Commissioner John Kling absent).
The board approved regular bills in the amount of $91,463.48, manual bills of $211,346.72, and additional bills of $61,789.64. The minutes show approval of budget amendment #2025-25 for $500; budget amendment #2025-26 listed in the minutes as $58,000 and $9,058.67; and budget amendment #2025-27 listed as $2,650, $250 and $20,000. All financial motions were moved by Commissioner Kimberling and carried by unanimous roll-call votes among members present. The meeting adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
