Mackinac County board to add recycling and St. Ignace transfer-station discussion to Aug. 28 agenda

County records noted the City of St. Ignace recently renewed its trash pickup contract with GFL, the private hauler, and the board reported receiving letters of support to keep the transfer station in St. Ignace from Moran Township and Mackinac Island.

During the public comment portion, Dick Pershinske said there is space in Engadine that could be used to start a transfer station, offering a local option for handling recyclables and solid waste.
