Commissioners question Economic Alliance spending, approve bills and a budget amendment

Garfield Township Supervisor Don Butkovich thanked the board for meeting in Engadine and asked about adding more members to the Road Commission; Commissioner Austin Kimberling said the county attorney is preparing a legal opinion.
The board reviewed and approved the regular bills for Sept. 25 totaling $84,378.15 and additional bills totaling $67,812.89. Commissioner Kimberling moved to approve the regular bills, seconded by Commissioner Schroeder; the roll-call vote was YES: Kimberling, Kling, Patrick, Schroeder. Commissioner Kimberling moved to approve the additional bills, seconded by Commissioner Kling; the same roll-call vote was recorded. The board also approved budget amendment #2025-31 (motion by Commissioner Kimberling, seconded by Commissioner Schroeder).
Public comments included Richard Pershinske asking about the status of the recycling program and stating that veterans "do not have the confidence in their services" at the Veterans Service Office. Commissioner Kling announced a Veterans Day service and ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 11 at the new Veterans Office building and said musician Ted Nugent will perform; the board encouraged residents to attend.
The meeting concluded with routine communications and adjournment at 5:01 p.m.
