Staff reports: E911 storm-recovery funding, dispatch upgrades and BS&A cloud implementation delayed

E911 Coordinator and Emergency Manager Bryce Tracy updated the board on ice-storm recovery and public-safety systems. He said the county is pursuing 75% federal funding for ice-storm recovery and that the state has set aside the remaining 25% to cover reimbursement costs. Central Dispatch completed a total electrical upgrade, and Tracy said the majority of public-safety radios will be upgraded beginning in 2027.
Treasurer Tina Massey presented third-quarter financial reports earlier in the meeting and raised the proposed BS&A cloud program. Commissioners expressed concern about adopting a cloud service before the product is available; the board decided to defer implementing BS&A cloud until 2026 when more information is expected.
Chair Mike Patrick also noted comp time rules are being handled in ongoing union negotiations and that any employee misuse will be addressed through that process.
