Mackinac County commissioners approve minutes, transfer funds and pass budget amendments

The Mackinac County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 21 handled routine governance matters, approving the meeting agenda and minutes, adopting an apportionment report, authorizing a temporary transfer for the Survey/Remont fund and approving bills and budget amendments.
Commissioner John Kling moved and Commissioner Judy St. Louis-Scott seconded approval of the agenda as amended. Commissioner Austin Kimberling moved to approve the Oct. 7 regular minutes and later moved to approve amended minutes of Aug. 14; both motions passed by voice vote. Equalization Director Dulcee Ranta presented the Apportionment Report; Commissioner Kling moved to approve it, Commissioner Kimberling seconded, and a roll-call vote recorded YES from all five commissioners.
Chief Deputy Register of Deeds Michelle Peters requested a temporary transfer from the County General Fund to the Survey/Remont fund; the board approved the transfer by roll call. The board approved regular bills totaling $78,154.37 and additional bills totaling $40,081.03. Commissioners also approved budget amendments #2025-34, #2025-35 and #2025-36; all votes were unanimous.
Treasurer Tina Massey presented third-quarter financial reports earlier in the meeting and discussion of a proposed BS&A cloud program was tabled pending more information in 2026. The meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
