Bryce Tracy, E911 Coordinator and Emergency Manager, speaking for the county's Health Insurance Committee, asked the board to set the special meeting to review plan options. Commissioner Austin Kimberling moved to set the meeting and Commissioner Judy St. Louis-Scott seconded; the motion passed with all commissioners voting YES.
The board's action also included a formal resolution to opt out of the 80/20 split described in PA-152 for plan year 2026; the board adopted that resolution by unanimous roll call. Chair Mike Patrick noted the vote followed the committee's recommendation to proceed with a special-session decision on plan selection. The board did not select a specific plan at the Oct. 21 meeting; it delegated that selection to the Oct. 27 special meeting.
Next steps: the board will convene Oct. 27 at 11:00 a.m. to choose among the employee health-plan options presented by the Health Insurance Committee.
