Gary Barnett and John McFarland, JEMS shift supervisors, asked the board to fill the vacancy created by an employee retirement and recommended Gerlach. Commissioner Brian McGalliard moved to appoint Kyle Gerlach effective July 10, 2023; Commissioner Chad Aker seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote of the three commissioners present.
The board also approved removing Larry Nuckols from all JEMS bank accounts and adding Gerlach as a signatory. Separately, commissioners authorized changing the power of attorney that permits ordering schedule II controlled substances — shifting that authority from Nuckols to Gerlach to cover ordering in McFarland’s absence. Those motions were moved by McGalliard, seconded by Aker, and approved unanimously.
