Eufaula Public Schools board appoints Braddock Dobbs, accepts resignations and approves new hires

The Eufaula Public Schools Board voted unanimously Sept. 8 to appoint Braddock Dobbs to Board Seat No. 3 and to approve several personnel actions, including accepting two resignations and hiring replacements.
Jeff Pippenger moved to appoint Braddock Dobbs to seat number 3; Martha Asher seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. "Motion to appointment Braddock Dobbs to board seat number 3," is recorded in the minutes as the formal motion and vote.
The board also voted to appoint Kenny Bumgarner as board clerk. That motion, made by Jeff Pippenger and seconded by Michael Morton, carried unanimously.
During an executive session called under O.S. Title 25, Section 307(B)(1), the board listed personnel items including two resignations: Anita Fernandes, cook, effective Aug. 22, 2025, and Norma Adcock, high school English teacher, effective Dec. 1, 2025. Back in open session the board accepted the resignations by a 5-0 vote; the motion to accept was made by Jeff Pippenger and seconded by Kenny Bumgarner.
The board approved two hires announced after executive session: Renee Duke was employed as the middle school permanent substitute for the 2025–2026 school year (motion by Jeff Pippenger; second by Martha Asher), and MaKayla Clayton-Lawrence was employed as an elementary cook for 2025–2026 (motion by Jeff Pippenger; second by Kenny Bumgarner). Both motions carried unanimously.
The actions on personnel were recorded as carried without dissent. The meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
