CIMARRON — The Village of Cimarron council on Sept. 11 voted to add fire remediation and watershed restoration to its Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan priorities and authorized replacement of the senior center’s HVAC unit.
Councilor Ernie LeDoux moved to approve Resolution 2024-025 adding fire remediation and watershed restoration to the village's ICIP priorities; Mayor Pro Tem Valorie Garcia seconded and the motion passed 3-0. Councilors said updating ICIP priorities could help position the village for project funding and planning.
Deputy Clerk Renee LeDoux told the council the senior center’s HVAC unit was failing and needed replacement. Councilor Ernie LeDoux moved to approve the replacement at a cost of $5,125.93; Councilor Colin Tawney seconded and the measure passed 3-0.
Both actions were taken during the New Business portion of the agenda. The council did not specify funding sources in the minutes; Administrator Shawn Jeffrey later said the village will analyze Lodgers Tax revenues, budget and expenses in December, which could affect future allocations to events and the Chamber.
