Carrizozo trustees approve multiple planning permits, three resolutions and appoint part‑time fire chief

At its March 10 meeting in Town Hall, the Carrizozo Board of Trustees approved a slate of routine municipal business and personnel actions. Highlights included adoption of Resolution No. R2026-06 approving the design for C Avenue between 10th and 14th streets; Resolution No. R2026-07 authorizing a Colonias loan/grant for Drexel; and Resolution No. R2026-08 directing cleanup at 1502 Ironwood. Each resolution passed on unanimous roll-call votes.

Trustees also approved a set of Planning & Zoning applications: Deborah LeBlanc was approved to place a manufactured home on her property; Celestina Gibbens received approval for setbacks only for a remodel at 1613 Jasmine and is required to return with a progress report in 60 days at the May 12 council meeting; and multiple applications from Cathie Eisen to place conex boxes and privacy fencing at several addresses were approved. Motions for business registrations and livestock permits were also approved by unanimous roll-call votes.

The board set the first budget workshop for March 24, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. (the meeting minutes contain a typographical year error '23026', corrected here to 2026). Trustees later convened an executive session under Section 10-15-1(H)2 for limited personnel matters; on reconvening the regular meeting, the board voted to approve the part‑time salaried position of Fire Chief and recorded the approval by roll call.

Routine monthly departmental reports — including police, fire, airport, library, and museum updates — were presented earlier in the meeting, and trustees approved the monthly expenditures. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
