Council approves several real‑property actions; authorizes sale of 3125 14th Avenue East after closed sessions

The Hibbing City Council recessed to three closed sessions on July 1 for real‑property discussions, reading three parcel codes into the record. After returning from closed session, City Attorney Andy Borland asked the council to authorize execution of a commercial/industrial purchase agreement for property located at 3125 14th Avenue East (parcel code 140010600110) to Rich and Sherry Lees. The council approved the authorization; the chair read a recorded vote of 4–2 in favor.
Earlier in the meeting staff (Nasepp) presented two small parcels adjacent to Joseph Myers and the council adopted Resolution 26‑07‑05 waiving Planning Commission review and approved conveyance of those lots to Mr. Myers. Council discussion noted Mr. Myers has maintained the lots for several years and the city will deed the parcels to him per the approved resolution.
City Attorney Borland confirmed the mechanics of executing the purchase agreement and staff said deeds and closing steps will be handled by the city attorney’s office and clerk as appropriate. No sale prices were read into the public record during the final authorization; minutes show the council authorized execution of the agreement pending standard closing steps.
