County schedules new hearing on winter parking code after publication error; Cascade officials update commissioners on annex occupancy permit

The Valley County Board of County Commissioners announced Nov. 3 that a publication error requires the county to hold an additional public hearing on proposed updates to Valley County Code 13-5-1,2,3,4 (Designated Winter Parking). The hearing was scheduled for Nov. 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
Chairman Sherry Maupin informed the board that the county must correct the publication error and reconvene the hearing. Commissioner Katlin Caldwell moved to take the code sections off the table and schedule the new hearing; Commissioner Neal Thompson seconded and the motion passed.
During the public-presentation portion of the meeting, City of Cascade Building Inspector Darryl Shepard and Cascade Fire Chief Steve Hull presented information for the commissioners regarding the building occupancy permit for the Valley County Cascade Annex. The meeting minutes indicate they spoke to the commissioners but do not record additional action or a decision regarding the permit at the Nov. 3 session.
The commission adjourned at 1:20 p.m.
