Valley County approves bulk fuel agreement, signs Abstein Road EDA letter and hears road-shop update

Road & Bridge Director Jeff McFadden presented several operational items to the commissioners on Nov. 10, including a bulk fuel-delivery agreement and an EDA bridge-replacement letter related to Abstein Road.
Director McFadden said the countys purchasing scale likely makes its fuel pricing competitive. Commissioner Katlin Caldwell moved to approve the Valley County Bulk Fuel Delivery Agreement; Chair Sherry Maupin seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
McFadden also presented a draft letter to Luis Aguilar regarding the EDA bridge replacement project for Abstein Road; Commissioner Caldwell moved that Chair Maupin sign the letter, Commissioner Neal Thompson seconded and the board approved the request. McFadden reported the Gold Dust shop construction is expected to complete at the end of February 2026.
What happens next: County staff will execute the bulk fuel agreement and transmit the Abstein Road letter as directed; construction and procurement follow-up will be managed by the Road & Bridge department.
