Valley County commissioners approve $1.07 million in FY2026 claims, certify Nov. 4 election canvass

The Valley County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 10 approved $1,072,243.53 in Fiscal Year 2026 claims across a range of funds, signed the Nov. 4 election canvass and approved three sets of meeting minutes.

Senior Deputy Auditor Robyn Elliott presented the claims, which included $183,253.84 in the General Fund, $55,471.88 for Road & Bridge, $187,183.12 from American Rescue Plan funds and $142,454.30 for Solid Waste. Elliott also identified a Local Area C T F (listed as LACTF) balance of $488,774.66. Commissioner Katlin Caldwell moved to approve the claims and board-order claims; Commissioner Neal Thompson seconded. "No further discussion," the minutes record; all commissioners voted in favor and the motion passed.

Election Coordinator Kierstin Oxford presented the November 4, 2025 canvass of votes for signature. Commissioner Thompson moved to approve the canvass; Commissioner Caldwell seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve and sign the canvass.

Chair Sherry Maupin presented corrected meeting minutes for Sept. 3, Nov. 3 and Nov. 5, 2025. Commissioner Caldwell moved to approve the minutes as corrected; Commissioner Thompson seconded and the motion passed.

The actions were routine administrative matters required to maintain county operations; board discussion focused on fund balances and clerical clarifications. The meeting recessed for lunch at 10:53 a.m. and reconvened at 2:30 p.m.
