Williston approves Flex PACE buydowns for five local businesses

Anna Nelson, director of economic development, presented five Flex PACE applications to the board on Jan. 28 and asked the commission to approve buydowns that would subsidize capital purchases and property expansions.
The requests were: Red River Oilfield Services — buydown not to exceed $45,000 for a third locomotive; Big Red Building Company — buydown not to exceed $43,000 to purchase a building at 412 47th Street West; Dacotah West — $50,000 buydown for a fifth crane at 5569 Cartwright Loop; Swanson Energy — buydown not to exceed $73,000 to purchase an existing oilfield service company at 5610 22nd Ave West; High Plains Energy Service — buydown not to exceed $43,000 to purchase property at 218 37th Avenue SE.
After Nelson’s presentations, Commissioner Victoria Siemieniewski moved to approve the Flex PACE applications as presented; Commissioner James Bervig seconded. The motion passed by voice vote, 4‑0 (Commissioner Brad Bekkedahl absent).
The approvals authorize staff to proceed with the buydown arrangements under the city’s Flex PACE program; specific implementation steps and any required agreements will be handled by the Economic Development Department.
