The Williston Board of City Commissioners met Jan. 28 and unanimously approved a consent agenda that included payroll and voucher payments, authorization to advertise for three 2025 public‑works projects and several routine approvals.
The commission approved accounts, claims and bills for Jan. 9–22, 2025, which listed a voucher total of $1,030,020.42, a payroll total of $892,943.49 and a grand total of $1,922,963.91 across 602 checks. The consent agenda also included authorization to advertise for bids on the 2025 Sidewalk District 25‑1, the 2025 Seal Coat Project and the 2025 Striping Project. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Commissioner James Bervig and seconded by Commissioner Victoria Siemieniewski and passed by voice vote, 4‑0 (Commissioner Brad Bekkedahl absent).
The board held a public hearing on an off‑sale beer license for Michoacan Market LLC for the former Crazy Cravings building. Vice President Tate Cymbaluk opened and closed the hearing after no public comment; the commission approved the off‑sale beer license by motion, 4‑0.
On its second reading the commission adopted Ordinance 1159, amending Ordinance 613 to add a Crossmod definition and clarify Housing and Urban Development (HUD) code exemptions. The motion to adopt Ordinance 1159 passed unanimously.
Deputy Auditor Karen Larson presented the semi‑annual review of pledged collateral, noting the recap ending Dec. 31, 2024, and that Century Code requires the presentation; the board acknowledged and approved the financial institutions report by motion, 4‑0.
The board adjourned at 6:09 p.m.
