Sheboygan County HR Committee approves pay exceptions, updates internet and AI policy

Health & Human Services Director Matt Strittmater asked the committee to approve a pay-exception request. Supervisor Char Nennig moved to approve and Supervisor Christian Ellis seconded; the motion carried. The committee also approved the minutes of its February 10, 2025 meeting on a motion by Supervisor Tom Wegner, seconded by Nennig.
On behalf of Rocky Knoll Health Care Center Administrator Kayla Clinton, Human Resources Director Dave Loomis requested and the committee approved a pay-exception to hire above the midpoint, contingent on subsequent approval by the Health Care Center Committee. Supervisor Ellis moved the Rocky Knoll motion and Supervisor Wegner seconded; the motion carried.
Loomis also presented updates and requested approval of revisions to three Human Resources policies: Policy 608 (Meal & Expense Reimbursement), Policy 805 (Internet, Social Media & Artificial Intelligence) and Policy 910 (Communicable Diseases). Supervisor Wegner moved approval of the policy updates and Supervisor Nennig seconded; the motions carried.
Loomis provided a department update covering staffing, the Tyler Project, a Mission/Vision/Values project and the county Compensation Study. The committee approved vouchers on a motion by Wegner, seconded by Nennig.
The Human Resources Committee scheduled its next meeting for April 14, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in Room 302 of the Administration Building. Supervisor Wegner moved to adjourn, Supervisor Ellis seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 3:39 p.m.
