NC DOT Division 1 outlines road and bridge projects affecting Martin County

NC DOT Division 1 staff briefed the Martin County Board of Commissioners on ongoing and planned transportation projects and maintenance programs during the March 14 meeting.
Division Maintenance Engineer Win Bridgers led the presentation and introduced Division staff. The board received updates on R-3826 (a 2.29-mile NC 125 project with a $9.47 million bid), R-2511 (a multi-mile US 17 project), R-5810 access management improvements on US 17, and bridge replacements on local roads. DOT staff also described a five-year Highway Maintenance Improvement Program covering resurfacing (109 miles, $18.2 million projected) and pavement preservation (102 miles, $2.87 million projected) and noted an I-87 feasibility study for the corridor from US 64 in Wendell to US 17 at Williamston.
Commissioners thanked DOT staff for the update; no board action was required.
