Farmington trustees reorganize leadership, approve scholarship payment and routine deposits

The Farmington Trustees of the Trust Funds reorganized the board and handled routine trust transactions at a meeting Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the Selectman’s Chamber.
Brian Beaverstock nominated Jimmy Bourque as chairman; Taylor Crawford seconded the motion, which carried 3-0. After the vote, Bourque (the meeting record lists him elsewhere as James Bourque) proceeded as chair. Bourque then nominated Beaverstock for vice-chair and for secretary; both nominations were seconded by Crawford and approved 3-0. The trustees then voted 3-0 to accept the minutes of the Feb. 19, 2026 meeting, on a motion by Beaverstock seconded by Bourque.
In old business, Beaverstock asked Kathy Seaver, the trustees’ bookkeeper, about a previous request to pay a National Honor Society scholarship. Seaver said she had informed the school advisor that the relevant account lacked sufficient funds.
In new business the trustees approved several routine financial actions. On a motion by Beaverstock, seconded by Crawford, they voted 3-0 to deposit a Chevron dividend check of $534 into the Leon Hayes Dividend Income Account. The trustees also voted 3-0, on Beaverstock’s motion and Crawford’s second, to deposit $2,000 into the Abraham Burtman Scholarship Fund following a School Board request.
The trustees reviewed a School Board request to reimburse the district for kitchen equipment from the School District Kitchen Equipment Fund and found a discrepancy between the amount recorded in the School Board minutes and the submitted bill and request form. On a motion by Bourque, seconded by Crawford, the trustees voted unanimously to return the reimbursement request for resubmission so the School Board can reconcile the discrepancy.
The board approved a $500 scholarship payment to the University of New Hampshire from the Nathan Charles Turner Scholarship Fund on behalf of Riley Hogan; the paperwork for that payment was reported as complete. The trustees received outreach from MVSB seeking the trustees’ business, and, after input from bookkeeper Kathy Seaver, agreed to retain accounts with TD Bank.
Jimmy Bourque moved to adjourn at 6:22 p.m.; Taylor Crawford seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The trustees scheduled their next meeting for Thursday, April 23, 2026.
