District staff told the Finance & Personnel Committee that BenTech has received required employee and benefits documentation and is working toward a complete implementation by September, with open enrollment planned for November.
Michael Engel said BenTech is a third‑party partner that integrates with the district’s Skyward system to manage benefits intake and payroll deductions, which the district hopes will reduce errors and improve the user experience during open enrollment.
Staff reported that documentation provided to BenTech on June 23 included employee and retiree lists, salaries, job titles and current benefits deductions. The presenter said the district will continue to work with BenTech through the summer to prepare for enrollment and expects a smooth transition but did not present a formal implementation checklist or vote tonight.
A board member requested a brief explanation of why the district selected BenTech; Engel said the company is a preferred Skyward partner used by other districts, offering integrated benefits intake and reconciled payroll deductions.
