Jack County court approves consent agenda, renews 9-1-1 interlocal agreement and adopts indigent defense grant resolution

County Judge Brian Keith Umphress moved to approve all accounts and claims submitted; Commissioner Amy Salazar seconded the motion. The minutes record the motion as passing with four votes in favor and one abstention (Commissioner Gary Oliver abstained). The court did not record reasons for the abstention in the minutes.
On the consent agenda, Commissioner Henry Birdwell moved to approve: the minutes of the Sept. 22, 2025 meeting; the Tax Assessor/Collector reports for September 2025; acceptance of specified official bonds and oaths for county employees (Joey Highfill; Jeffery Miller; Lorena Banuelos; Cynthia Ann Hickey); acceptance of an extension activity and travel report submitted by agent Taylor K. Chapa for September 2025; renewal of the interlocal agreement for 9-1-1 public safety answering point services with Nortex Regional Planning Services; and adoption of a 2026 Jack County resolution in support of the county’s application for funds under the Texas Indigent Defense Grant Program. Commissioner Terry Ward seconded the motion and the consent agenda passed unanimously (5-0).
