Jack County approves UnitedHealthcare for 2025–26, raises employee deductible

County Judge Brian Keith Umphress and the Jack County Commissioners approved the county’s employee health plan recommendation from the Benefits Advisory Committee on Aug. 4, 2025, keeping UnitedHealthcare as the provider for medical, dental and vision coverage for Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2026.
Frank Hefner, IT/Emergency Management and a member of the Benefits Advisory Committee, told the court the committee recommended raising the individual deductible to $6,750, adding an additional Nonstop plan option, and issuing each covered employee a Mastercard preloaded with the deductible amount to be used only for deductible expenses; emergency-room visits will carry a $100 deductible charge under the plan as presented.
Commissioner Henry Birdwell moved to approve the committee’s recommendation; Commissioner Terry Ward seconded the motion and it passed unanimously (4-0). The vote implements the committee’s plan for the upcoming plan year and updates the county’s cost-sharing for employees.
The court did not discuss plan-specific premium dollar amounts or the county’s projected aggregate cost impact in the minutes. The specified plan year runs from Oct. 1, 2025, to Sept. 30, 2026.
