Hopkins County commissioners approve consent agenda, utility easements and several routine records

The Hopkins County Commissioners’ Court unanimously approved a consent agenda and recorded several routine items during its Dec. 9 meeting.
Commissioner Greg Anglin moved to approve the consent agenda, which included approval of prior meeting minutes and two requests from Farmers Electric Cooperative for permission to construct electrical power distribution facilities crossing County Roads 2333 and 1170. Commissioner Wesley Miller seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The court also made a matter of record a quote from Williams Air Conditioning and Heating for replacement of a condenser in the County Judge’s office and recorded a license termination at 128-A Jefferson St., where the Red Cross and the Salvation Army are moving out and the building will be readied for the election administrator’s offices. Chris Morton, representing Parks Recycling, informed the court that the operation is exempt from the local wreckage and salvage yard permit requirements; the court recorded that exemption for transparency.
Under contracts and procurement, the court recorded that Hopkins County Precinct 1 intends to contract with Koby Ivey to remove trees from County Road 1100. The court accepted fuel bids and Hall Oil — the only bidder — will provide fuel deliveries to precinct barns and county departments for one year.
All routine approvals and records were entered into the official minutes and the supporting documents were attached to the county clerk’s file.
