NVTA Chief Executive Officer Miss Bachman told authority members on July 9 that the authority is beginning an update to its long‑range transportation (transaction) plan, with adoption projected for December 2027, and urged jurisdictions and agencies to engage in outreach.
“We will be hosting an open house on July 23 from 6 to 8PM … and we have an online survey that is open. The deadline to complete this survey is August 9,” Bachman said, asking members to publicize the outreach to their jurisdictions.
Bachman also summarized progress on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) action plan: the authority has identified 28 routes, five of which are in various stages of development and one currently operating. She said the purpose of meetings with local governing bodies is to align mobility and transit plans so jurisdictions can be positioned for up to 70% NVTA funding when projects enter implementation.
The CEO noted organizational recognitions and awards—NVTA staff were acknowledged as a top workplace for commuters and received commuter‑connections awards—and introduced three new staff members: Johnny Kim and Hannah Theissing (regional transportation planners) and Pete DeLuca (comps manager).
Bachman asked members to help publicize the transaction outreach and noted the transaction plan constrains NVTA funding to projects in the long‑range plan, underscoring the importance of the update and local alignment.
Members did not take further action at the meeting on these items; the CEO’s remarks were informational and set expectations for public engagement and future committee work.
