Trustees voted to authorize emergency repairs and to appropriate contingency funds to cover the costs.
Treasurer Steven Gafka explained the process for creating dedicated capital line items for elevator and HVAC repairs, saying that the village previously used a general capital account for such expenses and that the financial software (Edmons) requires separate resolutions per fund. The board approved creating new capital expense lines (Village Center Capital Repairs — Elevator and HVAC) and approved related budget amendments to receive and appropriate the funding.
After the votes, trustees asked how much contingency remained; Gafka said about $59,000 remained in village contingency. Trustees also discussed outstanding reconciling tasks for June accounting and asked staff to provide updated departmental fiscal numbers when they are available.
