"It has been a privilege to serve with Director Long and the staff," Alexander said, listing park openings and maintenance concerns and encouraging the council to remember parks when allocating bond funds. She also offered practical advice to incoming commissioners about reading agendas, taking notes and engaging with community events.
Commissioners and staff praised Alexander’s mentorship and steady service; several colleagues noted her frequent presence at community events and thanked her for contributions to department morale and outreach. The commission adjourned after the farewell and routine business; its next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10, 2026.
