Utility board approves two maintenance quotes totaling $13,226 for substation cleaning and meter work

The Lawrenceburg Utility Board on July 6 approved two vendor quotes totaling $13,226 for routine maintenance and equipment upgrades.
Utility Director Rob Schneider presented a $6,237 quote from Qualys to clean the LMU Walker substation while it is offline after a 34.5 kilovolt breaker upgrade, saying the work would clean buses, equipment and conductors affected by residue from a distillery. The board approved the maintenance quote on a voice vote.
Schneider also presented a $6,989 quote from Grip to perform replacement and a calibration check on the raw mag meter feeding the plant. Schneider said Grip had earlier repaired and calibrated the finished-water meter successfully; the new quote covers performing that same upgrade on the raw mag meter. The board approved the $6,989 quote by voice vote.
Both items were described as maintenance and operational work; Schneider said no further new business remained for the utility director.
What happens next: staff will contract with Qualys and Grip to schedule the cleaning and meter work while coordinating around the substation offline window and plant operations.
