Hanover Township board adopts ambitious 2025–26 goals, adds curriculum and technology language

The Hanover Township School District board on July 8 adopted a set of ambitious, measurable goals for the 2025–26 school year and amended the motion to explicitly forward goals on curriculum, technology and students. The board then approved multiple consent agendas including personnel and finance items.
Board members said the updated goals move the district beyond vague, “continuing” phrasing and toward concrete benchmarks. “I do think the goals were ambitious last year, but because we acknowledge that and recognize that, I don’t think it was a bad thing,” Mr. Skiff said, adding that the new goals include clear markers and points by which success can be measured.
The motion to adopt the goals was opened for a vote after discussion. A board member suggested amending the motion “to include the curriculum, technology and students” when forwarding the goals for approval; the amendment was accepted and the board proceeded to a roll-call vote. Chair called the roll and the motion carried.
During the same session the board approved the personnel consent agenda (items 1–20 and supplemental items 21–26) on the superintendent’s recommendation, and accepted finance and transportation recommendations presented by the business administrator/board secretary. The business administrator presented the period-end balances earlier in the meeting as part of her financial report.
Board members also accepted a PTA donation for playground equipment at Salem and approved two items on the policy agenda following committee recommendation. The meeting closed with announcements about candidate filing for the November school-board ballot and an adjournment without executive session.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled according to the district calendar; several items discussed (curriculum approvals, staff approvals, and the lunch program vendor) will return for formal approval or implementation steps at upcoming meetings.
