Belle Isle fills two council seats; Christopher Oller and Jim Partin sworn in

Mayor Jason Carson and the City Council unanimously filled two seats at the April 21 meeting, appointing Christopher Oller to District 6 and reappointing Jim (James) Partin to District 7.
Commissioner Ed Gold moved to appoint Christopher Oller to the District 6 seat; Commissioner Bobby Lance seconded the motion, which passed 6–0. Commissioner Beth Lowell moved to reappoint Jim Partin to District 7; Commissioner Lance seconded and that motion also passed 6–0. Mayor Carson administered the oath of office to both appointees, who immediately assumed their duties on the dais.
The appointments followed a short period of consideration after the council received the candidates. With the additions, the council is fully seated and the City Manager said workshops to review potential City Charter updates will be scheduled now that the full membership is in place.
No amendments or conditions were attached to the appointments in the minutes. The motions were recorded as unanimous votes.
