Adair County board approves claims, returns dispatcher to full time, OKs culvert right‑of‑way payment; hears IT vendor pitch

At its April 22 meeting the Adair County Board of Supervisors approved routine claims, personnel changes and a right‑of‑way contract and received updates from county engineering staff and an IT vendor.
The board approved claims to AUXIANT HRA INS TRUST totaling $10,299.71. The board also approved a request from County Sheriff Jeff Vandewater to return Gwendi Rice to full‑time dispatcher/jailer status (motion by Hoadley, second by Wedemeyer). Vandewater left the meeting shortly after making the request.
Nate Rogers of DataVizion gave an overview of the company’s services, including IT support, server installation, equipment sales and technology integration; he noted DataVizion’s work with other Iowa counties and partnerships with ISAC and said services could be provided on an as‑needed basis.
Engineer Nick Kauffman presented and the board approved a right‑of‑way contract for the W26 Prussia Culvert Project (LFM-LRCBW26P—7X-01) for $2,900.76 to Fred and Marie Ruth Pickrell. Kauffman also updated the board on projects: the N11 Lincoln bridge nearing completion, final work on W9 Lincoln, asphalt work near the county line, near‑complete bridge inspections for the month, planned consignment sale of equipment, and construction of a tourism sign near Schildberg’s.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:55 a.m. and the minutes were attested by Auditor Mandy Berg.
