Minong board weighs TextMyGov messaging, adopts bid-acknowledgement form and approves nuisance-letter mailing; looks at trail cameras for 2027

Town staff and vendors briefed the Minong board on several administrative items May 26, including a resident-texting system, nuisance-property outreach, procurement forms and possible trail-camera purchases.

Jason and Luc of TextMyGov presented a resident-messaging service that would allow residents to sign up using a phone number to receive targeted notices. Supervisor Dean Patrick asked that Supervisor Joe Radzak and Susan Conaway arrange a follow-up meeting with TextMyGov to discuss implementation details and bring recommendations back to the board.

The board voted to send a nuisance-property letter and accompanying flyer to the mailing list provided by L Shepard, a procedural step intended to notify property owners of town standards. The board also adopted a Bid Requirement Acknowledgment form, which the clerk said is recommended to ensure all bidders are pricing the same scope of work and materials when the town solicits road and other bids.

Town staff raised a separate proposal to replace current trail cameras, citing difficulty in getting clear vehicle images; staff estimated cameras cost about $500 each with an annual unlimited-picture package of $200–$300. The board moved to include trail cameras in the 2027 budget for further consideration and discussed whether an ordinance would be needed.

The board also proposed a slate of town bank account signers (Susan Conaway, Rhonda Kellen, Linda Featherly, Christine Holland and Joe Radzak); the motion was recorded in the minutes but the transcript does not record a vote outcome for that item.

Resident Max Ericson Sr. used the public-comment period to say Minong Area Disposal "seems to be working." The meeting adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
