Minong approves septic payment from Building Fund, discusses parking lot repairs and town hall projects

Board member Dean Patrick reported that both septic systems were full and that Badger performed two trips to empty them as part of the town's three‑year cycle. Patrick moved and James Smith seconded a motion to pay Badger from the Building Fund; the motion passed unanimously.
Patrick also told the board that the parking lot needs cracksealing and chipsealing and suggested soliciting bids, estimating the cost would be under $10,000 and that the expense might be charged to Building Expense. Clerk/Treasurer Susan Conaway suggested timing parking lot work with the road bids. The board did not record a motion to authorize spending on the parking lot at the April 13 meeting.
Town staff proposed removing louvers and excess metal from a shed, consolidating items to reduce rodent problems and assessing the resale value of an unused shed. Board members discussed getting quotes for painting and replacing or deep‑cleaning floor coverings in the hall and kitchen; Dean Patrick agreed to contact flooring companies and Acting Chair Linda Featherly agreed to explore painting options.
The board's actions approved immediate sanitary work (payment for septic service) and left other maintenance items for follow‑up with bids or quotes.
