Perryville approves amended cooperative agreement to support Perry County EDA

The Perryville Board of Aldermen voted 6-0 on Jan. 6 to approve an amended cooperative agreement between the City of Perryville, Perry County, the Perryville Development Corporation and the Industrial Development Authority of Perry County to continue funding support for the Perry County Economic Development Authority (EDA). Alderman Clint Rice moved for approval; Alderman Deanna Kline seconded the motion and the measure carried.
City officials said the amended contract is intended to formalize continued local support for county economic-development activities. The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute the amended contract and the city clerk to attest the mayor’s signature. The Board recorded the vote as six ayes, zero nays.
The approval was part of a broader consent and resolutions section of the agenda; city staff did not provide additional financial details in the meeting record beyond the resolution’s authorization to enter the agreement. The adopted resolution will be incorporated into city records and executed by the mayor and city clerk.
The Board adjourned to closed session later in the meeting and set its next regular meeting for Jan. 20, 2026.
