Lonedell R-14 board approves bus garage site plans; later awards land-usage agreement to KLC Construction

The Lonedell R-14 School Board approved site plans for a new bus garage and authorized geotechnical testing at its Feb. 17 meeting, then returned from closed session to approve a land-usage agreement for the project.

James Heideman moved to approve the bus garage site plans; the motion carried unanimously. The board then considered a Cochran quote for geotechnical services. Heideman successfully moved to amend a prior motion to remove lot consolidation from consideration and the board approved the Cochran geotechnical quote as amended.

The land-usage agreement was tabled for closed session earlier in the meeting. After the board returned to open session at 8:25 p.m., members voted unanimously to take the item from the table and to award the land-usage agreement to Brian Dierker of KLC Construction for the 2026–2031 period. Minutes record the motions as passing unanimously.

The minutes include a later, duplicated line that appears to reintroduce lot consolidation alongside the Cochran quote; the board’s recorded action immediately after the amendment and the subsequent vote indicates the approved geotechnical work did not include lot consolidation. The transcript minutes do not include further public detail about the terms of the land-usage agreement, project cost, funding source or timetable for construction.
