Concord School Board completes reorganization: Walsh elected president, Meeker vice president, Boucher secretary

At its organizational meeting Jan. 5 the Concord School Board elected Pamela Walsh president, Kara Meeker vice president (secret ballot) and Liz Boucher secretary; the executive committee will meet to assign committees and the board scheduled a Jan. 24 retreat.
At the board’s Jan. 5 organizational meeting members conducted nominations and elections for board officers and agreed on near‑term committee scheduling.
Following the board’s nomination rules, Pamela Walsh was nominated for president and elected by voice vote after no additional nominations were offered.
Barb Higgins nominated herself for vice president and spoke to her reasons for seeking a leadership role on a largely new board, saying she hoped to model collaboration with the newly elected president. After nominations closed, the board opted for a secret/roll‑call ballot for vice president; Kara Meeker was recorded as the successful candidate.
Liz Boucher was nominated and elected secretary. The chair and executive committee outlined a Jan. 24 board retreat (8 a.m.–2 p.m.) and asked members to submit committee preferences; the executive committee will meet to finalize assignments.
A motion to adjourn the organization portion carried and the board moved directly into its regular Jan. 5 meeting.
