The Dalton Select Board voted to accept an unanticipated FEMA reimbursement of $27,314.76 during a public hearing and then closed the hearing.
"I make a motion that we accept the payment reimbursement, $27,314.76," Chair Jo Beth said; another member seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote.
Board staff also reported that the town received the final balance of $8,183.40 for the solar project reimbursement, completing the grant reimbursement cycle. Staff noted that because the solar payment was below the $10,000 public-hearing threshold, no additional hearing was required.
The board confirmed that recent repair costs previously discussed included an $11,000 invoice and smaller subsequent charges. Members reviewed bank reconciliations for January and scheduled routine administrative follow-ups, including signatures on required certificates and approval of meeting minutes.
The board did not identify any immediate fiscal conditions tied to future action beyond the administrative acceptance of the funds. The public hearing was closed before the meeting continued with regular select-board business.
