At the start of the meeting the tax collector presented a renewable energy-credit sale and purchase agreement tied to the town’s solar array at the highway department. She described the buyer as a broker who would aggregate and resell the town’s RECs and remit payments to the town, less a broker fee.
The tax collector said she spoke with a contact at Barrington Solar who called the contract terms "typical" and estimated the town would earn roughly $900 per year from the credits given the size of Dalton’s array. She asked the board to review the printed and emailed contract before any action and did not recommend signing at tonight’s meeting.
Board members said they wanted time to review the agreement and asked the tax collector to email the contract to the board for closer review.
