Platte County collector: tax bills will mail this week; senior credits will appear on bills

Sheila Palmer, Platte County Collector of Revenue, told commissioners Nov. 3 that the collector's office is receiving many phone calls and live chats as tax bills prepare to mail later in the week and be posted at plattecountycollector.com.
Palmer said the bills will reflect 2024 residential values with a 6.835% increase "as required by the state tax commission order" and that Senate Bill 190 senior credits will be applied and shown on the bills. She noted vendor software implementation challenges delayed the collector's ability to print a separate base amount and the senior credit line exactly as intended, but confirmed the total amount due shown on the bill, with a due date of Dec. 31, 2025, is the correct payable amount.
Palmer urged residents to consult the online bill when it is posted and to contact the collector's office with questions about billing or the senior credit presentation.
