Committee members on Oct. 28 discussed two ordinance initiatives: a proposed sand-hauling fee and updates to the city parking ordinance. Members agreed to recommend that staff draft an ordinance setting sand-hauling fees at $10 per truckload with enforcement by camera; Gill Adams was asked to research camera options for enforcement.
Separately, members noted that some streets currently designated for 24-hour parking were intended to be 4-hour parking on the south side of town. The committee directed staff to incorporate south-side time limits and trailer-parking prohibitions into the parking ordinance and return draft language for committee review.
No ordinance was before the committee for final action at this meeting; both items were advanced as staff direction and ordinance-drafting requests. The committee did not provide cost estimates for camera enforcement or draft ordinance text at the meeting.
