At its Feb. 4 meeting, the Clifton Town Council approved several routine financial motions and a parks installation request.
Town Treasurer Suzy Murphy reported an invasive-plant invoice was corrected from $5,700 to $1,500 and said that line item is already in the budget, so no additional council approval is required. The treasurer also reported United Bank account balances and that Rodefer Moss will send a list of documents in the next two weeks to begin audit and support services. Councilmember Steve Effros moved to reimburse the treasurer for receipts; CM Mary Hess seconded, and the motion passed by poll, 6-0. Council then approved the treasurers report by poll, 6-0.
On parks business, CM Lynn Screen said two of three playground pieces have been delivered and Vice Mayor Regan McDonald will meet with a contractor to collect installation quotes. CM Jay Davis moved to approve up to $4,000 for installation; CM Mary Hess seconded and the motion passed with recorded votes showing all present voted Aye.
The council reviewed budget tables included in the treasurer material (noting large CIF and VDOT-related line items for Streetscape Phase 2A) and discussed next steps for budgeting sessions in March and April. No additional budget appropriations were adopted at the meeting.
