On Jan. 12, 2026, the South Hill Town Council unanimously approved the Town Council Code of Ethics, a document the town asks council members to review and reaffirm each January.
Town Manager Keli Reekes explained the Code outlines expectations for ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability. Vice Mayor Gavin Honeycutt requested the Code be displayed in the temporary Council Chambers as it is displayed in the permanent chambers. Councilor Delores Luster moved to approve the Code and Councilor Ashley Hardee seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote with Councilors Randy Crocker, Lillie Feggins-Boone, Ashley Hardee, Vice Mayor Gavin Honeycutt, Delores Luster, Carl Sasser Jr., and Michael Smith recorded as 'Aye.
Following approval, council members were asked to sign and acknowledge the document as a reaffirmation of their commitment to ethical governance.
