Castle Hill Select Board approves minutes, warrants and several 2026 budget line items; $43,000 rollover reported

The Castle Hill Municipal Officers approved the minutes of the Dec. 10, 2025 Select Board meeting and signed Treasurer Warrants #99–109 during their Jan. 14 meeting at the Town Office. Both the minutes and the warrants were approved by unanimous vote.
The board then reviewed individual departmental line items for the 2026 budget. The Select Board approved the Community Services line items on a motion by Select Board member Maylen Kenney, seconded by Scott Cheney, and approved the General Assistance and Revenue line items on motions by Herman Condon (General Assistance seconded by Ryan Spooner; Revenue seconded by Scott Cheney). Each motion passed 5–0.
Town Manager Sandra Fournier told the board that 2025 expenses came in under budget while revenues exceeded expectations, leaving an approximate $43,000 rollover to the town's undesignated fund balance. Highway and Recreation department line-items were listed as joint accounts and no separate motions were taken on them.
The board also scheduled a joint Select Board meeting for Jan. 20, 2026, and set the next regular meeting for Feb. 11, 2026; Chair Shari Cheney adjourned the Jan. 14 meeting at 8:08 PM.
