Town Manager Sandra Fournier told the Castle Hill Municipal Officers on Jan. 14 that the town has received a grant of $521,640 to repair the culvert at Alder Lake. She said the town will move money from the undesignated fund balance into reserve accounts as part of the financing plan during 2026.
The announcement was made during the New Business portion of the meeting. No formal vote or motion was recorded on acceptance of the grant at the meeting; the manager presented the award as an informational update. Fournier said she is "in the process of moving money from the undesignated fund balance to the reserve accounts," and that the transfers will occur in 2026.
The board did not take additional formal action on the culvert project during the meeting. The Select Board will consider reserve-account transactions and any related procurement or construction decisions in future meetings as required by town policy and accounting practice.
