The council heard a project update on Crouse Park improvements at its July 16 meeting.
A staff member (S11) said Allison Construction has started phase 1, which covers fencing and site preparation. "That portion of the contract is $18,350," the presenter said, adding that phase 2 (finishing the court and related site work) is $15,800. Earlier estimates showed combined costs of about $31,700, but staff now estimate roughly $34,000 is needed to complete phase 2 and final work.
The presenter said the town committed $10,000 to the project and that the remainder of funds came from countywide contributions and grant sources; total funds collected for the project are approximately $45,000. Staff indicated they expect to receive the signed contract back this week and to process the phase 1 payment when work is complete.
Council members asked about landscaping plans; staff said schematics for landscaping and funding sources will be presented next month.
No formal vote was taken on the project at the meeting; staff will return with the signed contract and a payment request.
